CHS Students & Staff can wear hats to school tomorrow!


Youth Leadership Council met on November 14, 2023 with staff from Planning and Development of the City of Commerce. The Youth Leadership Council worked with staff to plan the use of property in Commerce, question, and answer session on career path for Planning and Development. Members of the Youth Leadership pictured are Madison Sanchez, Keara Zelley and Rian Mullis. Members of the Youth Ledership Council discussed volunteering with the Commerce DDA in the Christmas events on November 30, helping with pictures with Santa. The Youth Leadership Council meets monthly with staff from City of Commerce to learn about city government.

We will be presenting important information about changes for the FAFSA and other important need-to-know details for applying for HOPE Scholarships and HOPE Grants! You don't want to miss this!

On Tuesday, November 7th, CHS students will take the Georgia Student Health Survey. If you do not wish for your child to participate in the survey, please complete a Passive Parental Permission Form and return it to the front office by 3:00 PM on Monday, November 6th. Students or parents can get a Passive Parental Permission Form in the CHS front office.

Several local churches and community partners are hosting the Annual Thanksgiving Meal Boxes. The meal will include a variety of store bought items as well as a gift card to Quality Foods. Meal boxes may be picked up at CHS or delivered to your home. Sign up forms are available in Student Services and are due by November 6.

Wes Massey was named Commerce City Schools System Teacher of the Year during last nights BOE meeting. Congratulations Wes!!

Commerce High School Drama is proud to present The Lion King JR on October 23rd and 24th at the Bill Anderson Performing Arts Center at 6:30pm. Tickets are $10 each and can be purchased in the front office of CHS or at the door.
CHS drama students will also perform The Lion King JR at Region One Act on Saturday, October 28th at 8:00 am in the Bill Anderson Performing Arts Center.
Admission to the Region Competition is free and open to the public. We hope to see you there!


We will have two Solar Eclipses this school year!. The first is this Saturday, October 14th - only a partial eclipse here in Georgia in the early afternoon. Any student or adult purchasing a meal this Friday October 13th receives a free approved eclipse-viewing pair of glasses. We will repeat this on Monday April 8th for a much more complete eclipse experience here in Georgia (65-75% coverage of the sun) just after lunch here in Commerce. Again, anyone purchasing a lunch on that Monday will receive a free pair of eclipse-viewing glasses. Those wishing to purchase a pair may do so for $1.
